Malam Ismail Adamu is the Chief Inspector of Union Homes Savings and Loans Plc and he started his banking career on 28th August 1981 when he joined Union Bank of Nigeria Plc at Funtua Branch as a Supervisor-in-Traning.
He became an Officer and served as the Branch Accountant from July 1985, after which he joined the Inspection Department Head Office, Lagos in February 1986. Adamu was later deployed to open Guyuk Branch, Adamawa State as the pioneer Branch Manager in November 1990. He subsequently served as Sub-Manager, Ado Bayero Branch, Kano in August 1992, before becoming the Branch Manager of Murtala Mohammed Way Branch, Kano in January 1994. He was also appointed Relationship Manager-corporate Banking Group Head Office, Lagos in September 1999 before joining Union Homes Savings and Loans Plc on 1st March 2000 as Senior Manager (Audit). Thereafter he was promoted Principal Manager, Kano Branch in May 2002.
Adamu was appointed the Chief Inspector of Union Homes on 16th February 2006 and was promoted to Assistant General Manager on 20th July 2006.
Adamu holds a Diploma in Banking and Finance from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Higher National Diploma in Banking and Finance, and Masters Degree in Banking and Finance from Bayero University, Kano. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administrators (FICA).
